A favorite pastime was to bird watch and they enjoyed following the annual arrivals of many of their favorite species. They took great pleasure living in an area as beautiful as the Upper Peninsula and being surrounded by an abundance of hiking trails, trees and water. She and her husband loved to hike and travel. Many of her past students still remember fondly the motto "you don't have to, you get to". Being a teacher was a big part of Marianne's life and the students she taught were very precious to her. Marianne worked as a school teacher at Mather Middle School in Munising, Graveraet Middle School and most recently, Bothwell Middle School in Marquette. She was extremely devoted to her children and spent much of her life dedicated to their care. One of her favorite activities was to entertain people in her home. She spent much of her free time participating in school and church activities or traveling to see friends and family. Marianne loved people, especially children. She was a 1981 graduate of Marquette Senior High School and a 1988 graduate of Northern Michigan University where she received a degree in elementary education. Marianne was born on Apat Washington, DC, a daughter of Daniel and Cornelia "Connie" (Mackesy) Mazzuchi. Marianne Evans, 45, of 304 Oak Street, Munising, died peacefully early Wednesday morning, Augat her home with her loving family at her side after an illness of several months.
